Straight answers

Air conditioning

How often should my air conditioner be deep cleaned?

In the humid Sunshine Coast climate we recommend a professional deep clean every 12 months. It removes hidden mould, bacteria and dust build-up that a standard filter clean misses.

What size split system do I need for my bedroom or living room?

As a general rule, a 2.5kW unit suits a standard bedroom, while a 5kW to 7.1kW unit is ideal for open-plan living areas. We offer free site assessments to work out the exact size your space needs for maximum efficiency.

Why is my air conditioner leaking water inside?

It's usually a blocked condensate drain line or frozen coils. Turn the system off straight away and call us to clear the blockage before it damages your plasterboard.

Electrical

Is my home compliant with the QLD smoke alarm laws?

Every Queensland home needs interconnected photoelectric smoke alarms in every bedroom, in hallways connecting bedrooms and on every storey. Homes being sold or rented have needed them since 2022, and all other homes must comply by 1 January 2027. We can audit your home and upgrade your alarms so you're compliant.

Why does my safety switch keep tripping?

A tripping safety switch is doing its job and protecting you. It's usually a faulty appliance, water in an outdoor light fitting or damaged wiring. If it won't reset, unplug your appliances and give us a call to isolate the fault.

When should I upgrade my switchboard?

If you still have old ceramic fuses, notice flickering lights, or you're adding solar, a large air conditioner or an EV charger, your switchboard likely needs an upgrade to safely handle the load.
